What Do You Mean We, Kemosabe?

This is very much in the “mistakes were made” category. No blame assessed, no responsibility taken.

President Barack Obama saluted veterans and urged his countrymen to do the same this Memorial Day weekend, saying the nation has not always paid them proper respect.

In his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday, Obama said people can honor veterans by sending a letter or care package to troops overseas, volunteering at health clinics or taking supplies to a homeless veterans center. He said it could also mean something as simple as saying “thank you” to a veteran walking by on the street.

“We have a responsibility to serve all of them as well as they serve all of us,” Obama said. “And yet, all too often in recent years and decades, we, as a nation, have failed to live up to that responsibility. We have failed to give them the support they need or pay them the respect they deserve.

Who is this “we?” Let’s name names:

Tell it to Janet Napolitano.

Tell it to the Gen. Betray Us smear merchants at Move On.

Tell it to the anti-military academics at Penn State and Columbia and every other ivy-covered institution.

Tell it to the anti-military recruiter thugs on campuses across the country.

Tell it to all the Winter Soldier fakers and phonies.

As all of the above were the core of his 53% support, I don’t think he’ll be telling them anything of the sort.

“All too often in recent years and decades…” is code-speak for the Bush administration. The guy is incapable of saying anything without putting it in the context of perceived failures of President Bush.

“Today, we moved our bowels successfully, whereas in recent years we had been bound up in unnecessary acrimony, or running too freely with our opinion.”

Note to the Prez: the public is tired of this.

By more than 3-to-1 Americans think it is time for the Obama administration to start taking responsibility (64 percent) instead of continuing to blame the Bush administration for mistakes (21 percent).

The problem is the POTUS is a boy in a man’s job.
The second problem is he is our POTUS, and we are stuck with him for at least another three and a half years.
I have no desire to have a child running around my house doing anything he feels like doing for even a day, let alone doing this for several years. And I have no desire to see our great nation run by a child either. Sigh!

Obama is no child and he’s no progressive either. He is presiding over the deliberate deconstruction of the Republican Party and will soon have established defacto one party rule. If you have one big strong party and a bunch of little territorial opposition parties that have no skills in coalition building or desire to develop them that’s what you have, you know. That’s playing for all the marbles and kids don’t have the gravitas or balls to pull off a move like that. The other day I heard a pro-administration veteran call him the “CEO of Democracy”. That term can only make sense in the context of Fascism; business and government becoming so intertwined that the difference fades to nothing.

For 10 years I have listened to people who knew what sober analysis was and what the truth is and they were all called names and dismissed as radicals and traitors at first but they have been proven right in case after case.. I have gathered enough background by now to be able to make my own predictions and this is one: by the time this term is over America will have completed it’s journey through the looking glass by instituting the program of civilian anti terror agencies Obama mentioned in his Inauguration speech, beginning the process of raising a generation to be morbidly afraid of itself as well as anyone outside our borders…

I am one of those liberals you speak of. I raised my son to love his country enough to join the American Military at 17. He now has served 18 years. His mother has progressed in her liberalism to an extreme. Because 18 years of this has taught me that although Americans profess to support the military they spend no time informing themselves on what actually is going on. I am still waiting for the celebrations for Bush’s victory in Iraq which he proclaimed upon signing the SOFA accords. Ask everyone you know about SOFA and watch the blank stare you will get as a reply. Ask 100 or so and then maybe you’ll get the idea of what it feels like to have a child in the military.
