And I ain’t telling. Go to the site and watch the very short clip. Then report back. I want to know your eye color. Your height. Weight. And level of pallor.

Brown. And someone must be a complete idiot not to understand what he really wanted to say, or a fool, to distort its meanings into a racist interpretation.
He was just very direct in saying what most of the people don’t have the guts to say: White, blue eyed, (meaning Americans and Europeans) have lived comfortably due to unrealistic gains, when most people in the world did not have this opportunity and are now suffering from the same crisis they created (or even worse).
And you would never have let Bolivian bankers, for instance, do what Icelandic bankers did… and that’s well hidden, genuine, racism.

Which eye?
Balderdash. First, I thought Obama got elected because Americans weren’t living comfortably—now it turns out we are? Do we know that for sure? Can we rely on you to let us know?
And I haven’t looked closely, but I don’t think Barney Frank or Franklin Raines or Nancy Pelosi—all of them with a hefty dose of guilt—have a blue eye among them.
Most people in the world never even get a sniff of what we create here, good or bad. Never have, maybe will (if they embrace the free market, the rule of law, the sanctity of contracts—and reject bribery and corruption). But that’s irrelevant to this discussion: I’ve seen shanty towns in good times and bad.
Lastly, Rodrigo, if you have the gall, the chutzpah, the nerve, the cojones to suggest that Latin American bankers have never engaged in financial shenanigans, you are either too dishonest or too ignorant to waste any more time on. I wasn’t aware Bolivia had banks, but the notorious tales of Brazilian and Argentine banks would keep small children up at night.
Lula’s just engaging in some good old-fashioned class warfare, which plays well at home and in the more fashionable post codes of London.

Hopefully, you will never know how ugly it can get.
As to “Lastly, Rodrigo, if you have the gall, the chutzpah, the nerve, the cojones to suggest that Latin American bankers have never engaged in financial shenanigans, you are either too dishonest or too ignorant to waste any more time on.”, I have never suggested that. They did engage in all you have mentioned and a lot more. And there was even a name for it. It was called Washington Consensus.
Again, mate, this is not about Lula or anyone else against you, as an American. Is about people that profited for a long time and people that were not even invited to the party, but are equally paying the bill. Don’t take it personally.

Of course we must take it personally ! if the boot was on the other foot and someone had stated that the problem was caused by ( for instance ) Spanish speakers, you would probably have been in the front of the protest queue. It’s a wonder he never mentioned the Jews, but we all know that he was playing to the crowd back home.

Bolivia does have banks. Don’t you remember that’s where blue-eyed Butch Cassidy ended up?

“Paying the bill”?
People around the world have benefited immensely from the wealth the US has created. Those still in poverty are there because they lived off of it rather than mimicked it.
And don’t get all doomsday–this is only an adjustment to clean out the unworkable stuff that accumulated in the last boom (unless Obama manages to lock all the trash in place like FDR did).

The people to blame are those who through their intense lobbying managed to get the government to pass legislation that forced banks to lend money to those who either a) Did not qualify for a loan b) Wanted to buy a house in an area which the banks did not see as a good enough area to vest their clients money c) Never had the inclination to repay the loan on time
