When the Extended Hand Comes Upside Your Head

President Obama reaches out to the Republicans and urges the them to unclench their fists:

“But what I have also said is, don’t come to the table with the same tired arguments and worn ideas that helped to create this crisis.”

“If we do not move swiftly to sign the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act into law, an economy that is already in crisis will be faced with catastrophe,” Obama said.

He linked congressional Republicans to the policies of former President George W. Bush’s administration.

“We are not going to get relief by turning back to the very same policies that for the last eight years doubled the national debt and threw our economy into a tailspin,” he said.

Obama said he valued “constructive criticism.”

Sure he does.

He just values $4.2 billion for “neighborhood stabilization activities” and $90 million to educate “vulnerable populations” more.

And Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are blameless.

Hey Baroke, check with your better half about how “the days of ‘politics of fear’ are over.”

Then rewind the clock and realize that the Bush White House tried 15 times to warn congress about the looming credit crisis. They wouldn’t hear it. Well, I wouldn’t either if I was making $millions off the deals.

I heard just a tiny clip this morning, a sentence or two, of The One at this meeting with Republicans. He sounded unbelieveably petulant. I do believe that The One has committed the biggest mistake of the famous: he believes his own publicity.

I think he’s constitutionally unable to endure the idea that he might not be the miraculous savior of all the people and he’s having a whole lot of trouble with finding out that “I won” does not guarantee submission from the opposition.

Yeah, his tiny-fisted tantrum was something to behold. This punk is cracking up already. Hell, after less than three weeks he “had to get out of the White House.”

Yeah, what a hell hole that place is. I don’t know how the Obamas stomach the place.
