What Does Evil Allegedly Look Like?

Am I being too harsh? You decide.

A woman accused of helping recruit dozens of female suicide bombers looked into the camera and described the process: trolling society for likely candidates and then patiently converting the women from troubled souls into deadly attackers.

The accounts, in a video released Tuesday by Iraq police, offer a rare glimpse into the networks used to find and train the female bombers who have become one of the insurgents’ most effective weapons as they struggle under increasing crackdowns.

In a separate prison interview with The Associated Press, with interrogators nearby, the woman said she was part of a plot in which young women were raped and then sent to her for matronly advice. She said she would try to persuade the victims to become suicide bombers as their only escape from the shame and to reclaim their honor.

The AP was allowed access on condition the information would not be released until the formal announcement of the arrest.

This is a story from the media, so, keep in mind that it could be only a story, not true. I hesitate to post it for that reason. But, CNN calls her “the mother of all believers” When I think of Believers, in the sense of religious belief, I don’t usually think about encouraging young women to blow themselves up. And I typically don’t think about someone cooperating with a scam to rape women. But that’s just me. We know that I’m old-fashioned.

PS: Aggie, according to some reports, it’s not just women.

I don’t know what the face of evil looks like—I thought Qaddafi’s puss came pretty close yesterday. This woman is pretty hideous, I have to say.

Any loony lefty out there (or however you describe yourself) care to explain how this is our fault? These were just a bunch of law-abiding people until we blundered in there and caused women to be raped and then blown to bits—is that the story? How does that jibe with the story we linked to the other day that described how women were not only voting in the Iraqi election, but running in it? Or the Afghani women attending university in Kabul?

Care to respond to the assertion that this is our enemy, not our fault?

Well, I’m pretty sure it’s our fault for not rolling over and taking one for (from) the team. We disagree that women are meat who are doomed to hell anyway and so we are not being properly sympathetic to their horrible religion. And if we don’t roll over, they can’t win and they know it and that hurts their teeny weeny feelings.

I am so sick of them. The clear winner for Oxymoron of the Century, even this early in it, is “Islamic civilization.”
