We Interrupt This Program

Sean Hannity asks the question on every American’s mind:

Why don’t liberals pay taxes? We kept hearing the Caroline Kennedy had a tax problem. Timothy Geithner has a tax problem. The committee that writes tax law, the House Ways and Means Committee, well their chairman Charlie Rangel, whoops sorry, he failed to report seventy-five thousand dollars in income. Oh it’s a hiccup, it’s not a problem, and of course we have I guess, the hero of every liberal is Al Franken and Al Franken didn’t pay his taxes in what, eighteen states or whatever it was at the time. I mean just absurd.

Absurd?

Absurd!

Nobody’s perfect:

The White House both underscored the magnitude of the problem and tried to downplay it in the space of seven words. “Nobody’s perfect,” said press secretary Robert Gibbs. “It was a serious mistake. …”

Geithner’s was an “honest mistake”, so we’re making progress.

But not everyone is:

President Obama may be riding high in Washington, but OBAMA 1260 is not.

The area’s only progressive talk station is changing formats, dropping such syndicated liberal hosts as Ed Schultz, Stephanie Miller and Bill Press in favor of financial news, starting next week.

The move by Redskins owner Dan Snyder, who purchased the station, WWRC, and others in Washington last summer, leaves the city without a liberal radio outlet. Program Director Greg Tantum says he thought the station could work because of enthusiasm over Obama, but that ratings collapsed to a level that could not be measured after the election.

But ratings nearly doubled, he says, at Snyder’s conservative station, WTNT, which features Laura Ingraham and Bill Bennett.

And Sean Hannity, no doubt! See how we tie things together here at BTL?

But one has to feel for poor old OBAMA 1260. Imagine a liberal radio station trying to make a go of it in that den of conservative iniquity, Washington, DC. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!

Time for the Fairness Doctrine! We must snuff out the last spark of conservative resistance in the media.

I was only able to track down one concrete mention of Leona “Only little people pay taxes” Helmsley, but do I really have to tell you that it was to a Democrat? $2,000 to Jimmy Carter in 1979. It’s good to know that Daschle and Geithner keep such high-class company.
