Saudi Arabia Arrests Anti-Israel Cleric

Iran arms Hizballah and Hamas. A Saudi Cleric issues a fatwa ordering Muslims to murder Israelis. And Saudi Arabia arrests him?
A popular radical cleric who urged Muslims to target Israeli interests around the world has been arrested, a Saudi Web site reported Wednesday.
Saudi Shi’ite cleric Sheikh…Saudi security officials were not available for comment.
The site, Rasid, posts news about Saudi Arabia’s Shiite community and has reliable contacts within both the Sunni and Shiite religious community.
The site said Sheik Awadh al-Garni was detained Monday in connection with his recent fatwa, or religious edict.
How odd. The Saudis arrest a Jew-hating cleric. Egypt refuses to cooperate with Hamas. Fatah is rooting for Israel. 2009 could be an interesting year.
