What’s Al Qaedan for hopenchange?

ALEX WITT: You know, John, and it’s interesting because there are many who had such an optimistic and hopeful opinion of things, and you certainly can’t expect things to change [snaps fingers] on a dime overnight, but there are many who suggested that with the outgoing Bush administration and the incoming Obama administration there would be something of a lull in terrorism attacks. There had been such a global outpouring of affection, respect, hope, with the new administration coming in, that precisely these kinds of attacks, it was thought — at least hoped — would be dampered down. But in this case it looks like Barack Obama is getting a preview of things to come.

Such a person is empowered to report the news—even on MSNBC? Is she serious?

Well, she is—but she can’t be taken seriously.

How can anyone look at the recent history of terrorism around the globe and think there is any correlation between our “good” behavior and the terrorists’ “bad” behavior? Even if there were, why would we want to dance to the tune Osama calls?

Einstein was supposed to have defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Liberals, the media—a huge swath of people in this country—are demonstrably insane, and they sure ain’t no Einsteins.

Welcome to Modern Liberalism! Where it’s cult members stand on their heads, and tell the rest of us WE’RE upside down. They see moral equivalency where there is none. They still continue to believe diplomacy works. They fail to admit that without the unselfish and humane actions of The United States, this world would be a worse shithole than it already is.

Of course, the obvious point here is that the liberal assumption is that the only reason there are attacks in the first place is because America is the problem….hence the thinking that now that we have repented and elected The One everything will be peachy with the jihadists. Yes, Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Indeed, this is just another symptom of Neo-Liberal thought. They assume the rest of the world is run by the likes of the League of Women Voters. They cannot grasp the concept of evil. They have never had a genuine, physical ass-kicking. I’ve written this before. A good old-fashioned ass-kicking, the kind with blood and tears and sweat in your mouth, humbles you and awakens you to the fact that some people cannot be reasoned with. And knowing this, you can determine those who can be reached, and those who can’t. Neo-liberals will not learn this as long as they don’t have their ass kicked by somebody they previously thought was a rational, reachable person.

So, another 9/11 under Obama (may peace and blessings be upon Him) just might awaken enough neo-liberals to the reality of this situation.

“So, another 9/11 under Obama (may peace and blessings be upon Him) just might awaken enough neo-liberals to the reality of this situation.”

That’s a great thought in a reasonable and logical world but believe me it will never apply here. There will always be an excuse like….

They still don’t trust us because of Bush.
It will take a century to overcome the sins of Gitmo.
American Christians are the real problem.
The Republican minority is just not supporting The One enough.

Truly one of the main differences between Liberal and Conservative ideology is acceptance of responsibility. And certainly there is none in the Neo-Liberal thinking.

Sadly, rick g, you have thrown cold water on my idealism. You are right: I was assuming that even the most heinous action might awaken the neo-liberal.

Sorry Martino. In a sane world you are right there. I’m stuck with using past history as a predictor of future events.
