Obama isn’t dividing us. Some of “us” are dividing. As an African-American woman, I am fully aware that racism goes both ways. Often times in the past, blacks have reacted to racism rather than perpetuate it. But I am appalled at the recent display of racist behavior demonstrated by “people” who know better. Obama won this election not because he’s black but IN SPITE of being black.
Hopefully, those acting “ignorant” about it will soon step back and realize what they are doing. It’s not good…not good at all

The Obama people trashed Bush, Cheney, Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, and a host of others. The supporters of Obama showed up at events wearing a T-shirt that said: Sarah Palin is a cunt. I bet you didn’t make a peep. The supporters of Obama are the same creeps that called President Bush “Hitler”, that openly wished that he and Vice President Cheney would be assassinated, and on and on. It is too late for you to worry about this stuff. It went on for eight years. There is absolutely no reason for the other side to play softball. It is now firmly embedded in our culture.

Why don’t you be specific? What’s “ignorant”? Who’s “dividing”? What does it mean to “react” to racism, rather than “perpetuate” it? What “people” are displaying “racist behavior” and what “behavior” are you referring to? I honestly don’t have any idea what you’re talking about, and I don’t think you do, either. Please write back so we can clear things up. This is an absurd place to leave it.
One specific point you do raise—that Obama won in spite of being black—is demonstrably untrue. Exit polls showed that among those for whom race was an issue (racists, in other words), Obama won 55-45, an even bigger margin than his overall total. If we were all racists, Obama would have had a fifty state victory.
