And Did I Mention He’s Black?*
Two interesting reactions to the Colin Powell endorsement of Barack Angela Obama:
It’s not a surprise to anyone who’s paid attention to his pro-Obama murmurings over the last four months.
…
It’s a mistake, though, to attribute Powell’s endorsement primarily to some kind of race loyalty.
It’s Obama’s social liberalism, not his skin color, that attracts Powell most.
“Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race,” Limbaugh wrote in an e-mail. “OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I’ll let you know what I come up with.”
As for Powell’s statement of concern this morning about the sort of Supreme Court justices a President McCain might appoint, Limbaugh wrote: “I was also unaware of his dislike for John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Antonin Scalia. I guess he also regrets Reagan and Bush making him a four-star [general] and secretary of state and appointing his son to head the FCC. Yes, let’s hear it for transformational figures.”
I come down on El Rushbo’s side on this one. I don’t think there’s even any argument about it. Obama was in the Illinois State Senate the last election cycle—he’s become “transformational” on the national scene how? Not by anything he’s done, save run a ruthless and successful campaign. That may be enough to win him the job, but I’m not convinced it’s enough for him to succeed at it.

All Rush is pointing out is the obvious. Powell endorsed Obama because he is a black candidate but he’s trying to bullshit all around the real reason for his endorsement by phony reasons. All he had to do was say I’m black and I have a candidate that I can somewhat identify with and I want to endorse him.

Powell has been one of lifes total un-achievers and now he’s hitching to the TOTAL NON-ACHIEVER of the Century. I guess Colly-wobble wants a diplomatic post, say in Kenya or maybe North Korea.
But all said and done, they do belong to the same club.

I think even Powell is missing the point like so many others. If Hussein Osama wins then JOE BIDEN will be President!! Thats the real horror of all of this. The writing already on the wall!

After looking at video of the endorsement I see fear in the face of Powell. Is Powell afraid of senator tarzans administration starting a war crimes trial up against the Bush administration? If anything after reading leftist blogs this could very well be the case since I don’t see any reason for Powell’s face to register being afraid.
And speaking of Obama’s unwavering support among “African Americans” of notority. Obama has been labeled Senator Tarzan by the most unlikely of people… A PASTOR!

I take offense to Colin Powell making reference to McCain questioning Obama’s associations. First, if he didn’t try to hide or minimize them then it wouldn’t have raised a red flag… to other Democrats! Anybody remember Hillary and other Democrats bringing this up? The same applies to Rev. Wright. As I recall it was the Democrats that brought it up and it was McCain who, to this day, won’t speak of it. Powell must have been so proud when Obama made fun of McCain’s inability to use the computer because of injuries he received fighting for his country, he must have been so proud of Obama fanning the “race card” every chance he got…. because it wasn’t an issue to anybody on the opposition and somebody had to do it, and Powell must be so proud of ACORN and how they’re working on behalf of Obama by cancelling out the votes of veterans, sons and daughters of veterans whose parents died to keep those rights. After all is said and done it comes down to choosing a candidate who has nothing in common with you except the color of his skin and betraying a candidate that has everything in common with you except for the color of his skin. What a sad day. I haven’t felt this bad since I watched churches filled with black citizens cheering when a man who butchered two white people, one of which was the mother of his children sleeping 100 feet away, was acquitted in criminal court. I’m listening to a black man telling a DJ on the radio that he doesn’t like Sarah Palin because she is white and “his president is black”. When is this going to stop?
