Now, the American people:

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin took questions with her running mate Wednesday night, offering at one point to play “stump the candidate” with a mostly friendly Michigan crowd.

The Alaska governor has largely avoided national news outlets since McCain named her his running mate August 29. Mostly unknown outside her home state, she has sat for interviews with ABC, People magazine and Fox News and had not taken questions at a campaign appearance before Wednesday.

“I think because I’m a Washington outsider, that opponents are going to be looking for a whole lot of things that they can criticize, and they can kind of beat the candidate here who chose me as his partner, to try to tear down the ticket,” she said Wednesday night.

Palin also took questions about her family and women’s rights during the hourlong forum. Asked at one point how she would respond to people who say she can’t be both a mother of five and vice president, she said, “Well, let’s prove them wrong.”

We all know how well it goes for VP candidates when they talk to the media:

Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden says that paying higher taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans. …

Biden told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Thursday that, in his words, “it’s time to be patriotic … time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut.”

Unbelievable.

For modern Democrats, government has become the end, not the means.

Whatever happened to “… Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it…”?

Am I speaking Hungarian?

    You can’t possibly be talking about the Declaration of Independence. It allowed SLAVERY for heaven’s sake, so the entire document must be completely worthless. It said MEN are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, so it discriminates agains womyn, so it must be worthless.

    Straighy from the horses mouth. Now here’e the “change” we need, isn’t it?Biden aslo blames the Bush administration for the mortgage crises, yet says nothing when it was brought to light yesterday that the top 2nd Senator that benefitted most from the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco was Barack Obama. Yea, $1000,00 a day was given to Barack while thousands lost their homes. That’s real change for you. Now, to add insult to injury, you’re just unpatriotic if you don’t pay more taxes to get America out of the rut they’re in when the very same people that put us here in the first place are actually running for office. Him and Barack have spent the last three weeks bashing Palin for no experience, yet how many “qualified” people are running our Government at the present time. Is anyone in Washington capable of making a decision? Keep it up Biden. Our only hope for this country is that the people that want you in office continue to watch you open your mouth and insult what true patriotism is.
