Hacked Off [UPDATED]

Michelle Malkin is all over this, especially here, but I’m going to link to a straight news story:

John McCain’s campaign said Wednesday it has contacted “appropriate authorities” over a report that Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin’s personal e-mail had been hacked.

“This is a shocking invasion of the Governor’s privacy and a violation of law,” campaign manager Rick Davis said in a statement. “The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities and we hope that anyone in possession of these emails will destroy them. We will have no further comment.”

The statement came hours after a user on the Web site WikiLeaks said he had gained access to Palin’s Yahoo e-mail account and gained access. Screenshots of the e-mail messages and photos of the Alaska governor’s family were published on that Web site and later on gossip Web site gawker.com.

I suppose it’s important to differentiate between the words and actions of Barack Obama and those who act on his behalf.

But I say f**k that s**t. These people are the problem, and Obama is their figurehead. If Obama were just another lame-ass Democrat, Jimmy Carter with soul, we would be worse off, but we could survive. But the Cindy Sheehans and the Code Pinkos and MoveOn and the Kos-sacks and the other Lefty freakazoids are the textbook definition of anti-American: they oppose what America stands for. In small doses, on the corner of Haight and Ashbury, they do little harm and add a bit of local color. But as members of the ruling party, they would be a wholesale disaster for this country.

They are Obama’s O-brownshirts, and they must be stopped.

UPDATE
To extend the metaphor, the media serves as the Goebbels propaganda machine:

How much farther into the tank for Obama can the Associated Press possibly get?

The disclosure Wednesday raises new questions about the propriety of the Palin administration’s use of nongovernment e-mail accounts . . .

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? These hackers commit a federal felony and the AP says it “raises questions” about Palin?

Flashback — Associated Press, November 1963:
The events in Dallas raise new questions about the propriety of the Kennedy administration’s planning of its motorcade route . . .

Flashback — Associated Press, December 1941:
The incident in Hawaii raises new questions about the propriety of the Roosevelt administration’s selection of naval bases . . .

Journalistic malpractice, plain and simple.

As I watch America’s institutions eaten away by the acid of leftist ideology, I feel anger, sure. But more and more I worry about the infrastructure of our customs and traditions. These actions and this coverage amount to a long drawn-out coup.

What a pile of nonsense. A bunch of internet geeks hack into someone’s email account and somehow Obama is responsible for it? I don’t think these guys were even politically motivated — they seem more like teenage pranksters.

As for “opposing what America stands for,” let’s compare:

“Al Qaida terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America, and he’s worried that someone won’t read them their rights.”
    -Palin on Obama

“Calling it ‘the foundation of Anglo-American law,’ he said the principle ’says very simply: If the government grabs you, then you have the right to at least ask, “Why was I grabbed?” And say, “Maybe you’ve got the wrong person.”‘ The safeguard is essential, Obama continued, ‘because we don’t always have the right person.’”
    -Obama on habeus corpus

“No person shall be … deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law…”
-The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

“The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion, the public safety may require it.”
    - Article One of the U.S. Constitution

So who is it that’s anti-American?

Instead of dropping in random wiki-quotes, Alex (incidentally, you forgot “Leave the gun, take the cannoli.” - The Godfather), just deal with this one:

“These people are the problem, and Obama is their figurehead. But as members of the ruling party, they would be a wholesale disaster for this country.”

If that sounds familiar, that’s because it’s what I wrote.

If you have anything to say (which is by no means certain yet), please do so in response to what you read, without making stuff up.

You may be right that the original hacker may not even be an Obama supporter—though the others in the food chain appear more likely to be be so. I wonder, though: what are the odds that anyone would hack the Facebook and MySpace pages of little Malia and Sasha Obama?

Yeah, what’s your point? Since when do un-uniformed combatants have U.S. constitutional rights?

“Calling it ‘the foundation of Anglo-American law,’ he said the principle ’says very simply: If the government grabs you, then you have the right to at least ask, “Why was I grabbed?” And say, “Maybe you’ve got the wrong person.”‘ The safeguard is essential, Obama continued, ‘because we don’t always have the right person.’”
    -Obama on habeus corpus

Yeah, that applies to U.S. citizens who are arrested for a crime. Obama is brilliant.

“No person shall be … deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law…”
-The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

It looks like al qaeda has invalidated that theory by flying planes into buildings and machine-gunning little children in Beslan, Russia, or by using hospitals to hide in during battles, or……

“The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion, the public safety may require it.”
    - Article One of the U.S. Constitution

Yeah, we were invaded, which translates to the above mentioned “…invasion…”

“So who is it that’s anti-American?”

The ignorant assholes who think the U.S. Constitution is a suicide pact.

Go Martino!! Its the little things they forget. They also get carried away with saying..”OMG its the worst time in American history”..yahdi yahdi yadi
Hmmm 148 or so years ago Habeaus Corpus..WAS..suspended, the “Sedition Act”..WAS..in force, SPIES and those SPYING on American citizens were everywhere and a Northerner could end in jail down south for supporting the North and a Southerner could end in jail up north for supporting the South. Abe lincoln was a ..HATED..man by his enemies down south, his political opponets (George McClellan) and by traitors within his own party. The left back then wanted to kowtow to the south and..STOP THE WAR…and draft rioting in many northern cities were put down ..VIOLENTLY..by Federal troops shooting and killing hundreds.

Soooo Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is worse now compared to then?? My answer is whiners have not been culled from the gene pool by 40 years of the Great Society failure. Then again, thats only my opinion.

Ahh I almost forgot the mother lode..the leftist media. Their treachery was manifest back then to everyone, especially the New York Times (which may have been under another name at that time..New York Daily??), anyhoo,
they published a secret map showing the complete defensive works (troop deployments, breastworks etc.) on the front page for all to see, including Robert E. Lee and all the confederacy. McClellan (think Retired General Clark)commander of the army of the potomac at that time, before he hated lincoln
(it would take politics for that:) LOL) called them “That treasonous rag”. 146 years later ..nothing has changed.

We already nuked Japan. There are many places higher on my list before we get back to them.

There’s NO respect from the “freak left”; no respect for laws, no respect for authority and I even read on a blog where some punk was sick of “honor” and whatever that means!

If Obama gets in, we’ll see change alright, change our flag to a black one with his fist on it.

We CANNOT give this country to the farthest left, arrogant, billionaires (Soros, etc).
