I didn’t think this was serious, but evidently it is legitimate. Barack Obama has his own gesture:
”We want to see it everywhere, but more importantly we want this sign to take the world by storm”…and at the Democrat convention with the goal of presenting a “crowd of 75,000 people at Obama’s nomination speech holding their hands above their heads, fingers laced together in support of a new direction for this country, a renewed hope, and acceptance of responsibility for our future.”
Holy [bleep]. God save us from political zealots and their crackpot gestures. It rarely ends well.
Religious imagery, fevered adoration, swooning at speeches, impatience with opponents, no sense of humor: these people are dan-ger-ous.

If you make this gesture anywhere near Buckeye Nation, you will immediately be met with the required and muscle-memory-powered “H” “I” “O” reply.
“…take the world by storm…”? Uh, as in “Storm Troopers?” I don’t mean to be as thin-skinned as Obama supporters where I might see hidden meaning in every sentence, phrase, word, letter, puncuation mark etc., but this is kinda creepy.
Did I write “thin-skinned”? I really struggle with my racist side.
