Saudis: Democracy, Whiskey, Sexy! [UPDATED]
When they let their turbans down, they’re not much different from the rest of us (yeah, right):
Most Saudi Arabia citizens interviewed in a poll oppose terrorism and want closer ties with the United States. But many Saudis remain opposed to making peace with Israel, according to what researchers call an unprecedented survey of the kingdom.
Ten percent of Saudis have a favorable view of the al Qaeda terrorist network, according to a survey by Terror Free Tomorrow, an international public opinion research group based in Washington.
Fifteen percent said they have a favorable view of al Qaeda’s leader, Saudi exile Osama bin Laden, the poll found.
Who was the pansy the other day who said we needed to appeal to the hearts and minds of the Afghans by, I forget, building skating rinks and multiplexes?
Bullshit. Just win, baby. That’s how you win hearts and minds.
UPDATE
Allah focuses, rightly so, on the less endearing rsults of the poll.
In a separate question, 53% say their opinion of America would improve if we brokered a comprehensive peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Good luck squaring that result with this one:
Favorable opinion of Jews: 6%
Unfavorable opinion of Jews: 89%
But that 5% undecided is up fro grabs!
