So it’s okay to name a genocidal terrorist Mohammed (Atta, to name just one), but not a teddy bear?
British teacher Gillian Gibbons has been convicted of inciting religious hatred for letting her pupils name a teddy bear Muhammad and sentenced to 15 days in prison and deportation from Sudan, one of her defense lawyers said Thursday.
Or, as Hot Air puts it:
Gibbons left the UK for Sudan to give something of herself to the less fortunate, and for that she faced the full wrath of sharia. The irony is that once she returns to the UK, she may find that she hasn’t escaped that wrath, since sharia has its adherents there. Radicals in Europe are no less a threat than the radical government in Sudan.
And Europe is in the cross hairs of Al Qaeda:
Al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden called on the Europeans to stop helping the United States in the war in Afghanistan, according to excerpts of a new audiotape broadcast Thursday on Al-Jazeera television.
Now, Osama is about as relevant to current events as John Kerry, but somebody out there must be listening to his eight-track releases.
