Shut Up, He Explained
As we’ve learned, Rosie O’Chavez has taken to calling all his opponents fascists lately. He could be right. I had a dry cleaner once whose use of starch in my shirt collars could have been learned only in the Hitler-Jugend.
But Rosie sees ‘em everywhere:
Mr Chavez called Mr Aznar, a close ally of US President George W Bush, a fascist, adding “fascists are not human. A snake is more human.”
…
Latin American, Portuguese, Spanish and Andorran leaders were meeting in Chile.
…
Mr Zapatero said: “[Former Prime Minister] Aznar was democratically elected by the Spanish people and was a legitimate representative of the Spanish people.”
Mr Chavez repeatedly tried to interrupt, despite his microphone being turned off.
Well, that’s not going to stop the human klaxon. But this might:
The king [Juan Carlos of Spain] leaned forward and said: “Why don’t you shut up?”
According to reports, the king used a familiar term normally used only for close acquaintances - or children.
Trust me, Rosie is no close acquaintance of King Juan Carlos.
Oh, one more thing:
The theme of this year’s 22-nation summit was “social cohesion”.
This is not the first time, Juan Carlos has had to face down fascists, by the way. He’s been doing it since Baby Hugo was in short pants (dread thought).

PS: Hot Air has a link to the video. I love the look on the King’s face. It’s the look Yankee fans have before they start brawling. Hit him in the gut, rey, you can’t miss it!
PPS: CNN has even better video, helpfully dubbed into English. This time, I thought of Archie Bunker: “shut up you”.
