Pentagon Shooter Was a 9/11 Truther [UPDATED]

As long as we’re tying lone wackos to broad political movements:

John Patrick Bedell, 36, pulled a handgun at a Pentagon entrance, shot two police officers and was mortally wounded in an exchange of gunfire, authorities said. The two officers were hospitalized briefly with minor injuries.

A blog connected to Bedell via the social networking site LinkedIn outlines his growing distrust of the federal government. It gives credence to the idea that a criminal enterprise run out of the government could have staged the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

It was one of several conspiracy-laden Internet postings linked to Bedell to surface since Thursday night’s shooting.

Authorities said Bedell, of Hollister, Calif., had previous run-ins with the law. They found no known connection to terrorist groups or ideologies, investigators said.

Other than shooting at the Pentagon, that is.

But if all 9/11 Truthers are potential shooters, shouldn’t the FBI be monitoring them? What about preventive custody for Rosie O’Donnell?

It wouldn’t have occurred to me to ask for these safety measures if the media hadn’t shown the way with insinuations about the IRS plane-crasher. Oh, and Tea Partiers, Palin supporters, and the like—not to mention soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Can’t be too careful!

UPDATE

And he was a registered Democrat (to no one’s surprise)

It’s George Bush’s fault…. this wouldn’t have happened if he didn’t schedule that 9/11 Tea Party just to justify his “Blood for Oil” campaign. The evil that man did continues to infect us in spite of Obama’s best efforts.

After 8 years of the nightly Bush bashing and anti-war hatred ginned up by the left wing media and our wonderful Democrat leadership, it is no wonder one their own went off the deep end, especially after the Messiah has failed to put and end to it all, as he so arrogantly promised. In Bedells’ mind, he had to act because of Obama’s failure to put everything to “right”.
