Why Are These Men Smiling? [UPDATED]
One because he’s about to get to second base with a statuesque blonde; the other because he just pwned the Vice President of the United States of America:

She sure gets around, doesn’t she?

The Secret Service may begin a criminal investigation against the Virginia couple who crashed a high-profile White House dinner, an agency spokesman said Friday.
Jim Mackin said the possible turn toward criminal charges is one reason the Secret Service has kept mum about what happened when Michaele and Tareq Salahi arrived at the security checkpoint Tuesday. They were not on the guest list for the dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
…
Bravo Media, meanwhile, confirmed that on the day of the dinner Michaele Salahi was being filmed around Washington and while she prepared for the dinner by a film crew connected with the network’s reality show, “The Real Housewives of D.C.,” because she is being considered for the upcoming TV program.
There’s a lot more reality in reality TV than in this White House, if you ask me. There’s a lot more reality in Michaele’s hair color than in this White House.
UPDATE
You knew it was coming. It had to be coming:

After the Secret Service insisted that President Barack Obama was never endangered by a security breach that allowed a couple to crash his first state dinner, the White House has released a photo showing that not only did the pair get close to Obama, they actually shook hands and talked to him.
As the White House was disclosing that the Virginia couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, met Obama in the receiving line, a “deeply concerned and embarrassed” Secret Service on Friday acknowledged that its officers never checked whether the two were on the guest list before letting them onto the White House grounds.
…
The Secret Service earlier this week had said the president was not in danger because the couple — like others at the dinner — had gone through magnetometers. But in light of their close proximity to the president, no such claim was made Friday.
I don’t suppose this really should reflect on the Obama administration—the Secret Service serve and protect regardless of who their charge is or what party he belongs to—but when you erect such a cult of personality, this kind of thing is bound to happen. I don’t see Bravo TV sending such desperate wannabes to ambush George Bush. But in television terms an audience with The One is a coup, if you will.

Is this the most incompetent White House ever? Or just in the past hundred years or so?
