AP, I think you're right, but what's really disturbing is that no one seems to think anti-Semitism is a subset of racism, which is something one would expect these "social issues" voters to oppose. If you told all those people that they were supporting racists, they would just gape at your like a codfish and not have the faintest idea of what you were talking about. But Obama has surrounded himself with racists all along (besides being one himself - Hi, Grandma) so none of this should be news to anyone but the self-deluded.

I am disappointed, but not surprised. And, Obama voters cannot feign surprise either. They knew exactly what he would do - they simply chose to ignore it. Obama's advisors during the campaign were virulently anti-Israel - Samatha Power, Robert Malley, Jeremiah Wright to just name a few.

It really boils down to priorities. Obama voters viewed social issues (namely abortion) more important than other issues (like Israel). They tried to delude themselves into believing that Obama would "not be that bad" on Israel. Alan Dershowitz is a perfect example. Dershowitz, a wonderful friend of Israel, endorsed Obama, reasoning that Obama and McCain were the same on Israel, and since Obama is more progressive, he supported Obama. Dershowitz's reasoning obviously doesn't have any basis whatsoever. At best, it's a rationalization. At worst, it's an outright lie.

However, Obama voters cannot delude themselves into believing that they just didn't know. They did know. They simply chose to ignore the clear evidence. Ultimately, Israel's blood is on their hands.
