I too am a Fred Thompson guy. I was surprised to see McCain get an 82.3% rating from the American Conservative Union. My problem is that the 18% is on issues that are very serious to many of us. As a security conservative, his lack of understanding the border is hugely worrisome to me. His wont to punish all of us with McCain Feingold because he was corrupted once is a very liberal trait. So, it's not just issues, it's a pattern of thinking. But all in all, I know what you are saying.
