Earl,

People need to actually practice what they preach. For years educators have touted "critical thinking" as opposed to "rote learning". That is the distinction that they made, without nuance.

What we have achieved is a generation of adults who simply swallow the party line. This is because with that style of "critical thinking" the answer is known before the question is asked. Our era is as rigid as the McCarthy era. I can't comment on Oregon because I don't live there, but if the article is accurate, maybe the state is filled with followers who never had an independent thought?

This may be 'funny' to YOU.....but I just moved here! Following the grandkids, but even with no sales tax, I'm concerned about the scope of State government - are we going to end up like California?

The funniest part is "unsuspecting lawmakers." How did these idiots miss the fact that, as stewards of the people's money, it's their job to suspect, to be suspicious, to investigate. But it's green energy so it must be good. No one dishonest would be selling green energy, would they? That's what evil oil barons do, right?

What worthless poltroons - too scared of a buzzword to even think a suspicious thought.
