Lame-o Apology Indicates Coakley Campaign, Globe Lied

Thug doesn’t dispute report of attack

A remorseful Michael P. Meehan called today to apologize (see here for background).

He said: “I just want to say to you that I’m sorry. And I’d just like to apologize. I appreciate your calling me back. I don’t want to make a big federal case out of it.”

He continued: “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were a reporter because you didn’t have any credentials, so I apologize for not knowing you were a reporter.”

I asked Meehan if he disputed anything that I wrote. “No,” he said.

I thanked Meehan for his apology.

What do we know about this? We know that Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley denied any knowledge of the attack, although there is a photograph of her observing it. We know that the Boston Globe and the AP wrote that the Weekly Standard reporter had “stumbled” and been helped up by the thug, Michael Meehan, although Mr. Meehan himself has admitted that he attacked the reporter. So we know 2 things: Coakley is a liar and the MSM is in the bag for her.

How do we know that they won’t destroy Scott Brown ballets? How do we trust in our government at all, given that the attorney general for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (no final “e”) watched one of her employees attack a reporter and then lied about it to the public and the media?

Not—Repeat Not—Terrorism

He didn’t yell “allahu akhbar”, didn’t carry a business card with the motto “Soldier of Allah”, didn’t try to convert anybody (that we know of), didn’t have pen pals in Al Qaeda—but he did kill four cops.

And now he’s dead:

The man wanted in the fatal shooting of four police officers was shot and killed Tuesday in south Seattle after he challenged police who approached him, authorities said.

The Seattle police department confirmed to the Pierce County sheriff’s office that Maurice Clemmons was killed in the shooting, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

The shooting took place about 2 a.m. It ended a two-day manhunt for Clemmons, 37, that began Sunday after an ambush-style killing of four police officers from Lakewood, about 40 miles south of Seattle.

They would have preferred an uneventful surrender, but Clemmons apparently was determined to go out in a blaze of hatred and insanity. And so he did.

This is your garden variety insane mass murderer (who was once pardoned by Mike Huckabee). Not terrorism. Just so we’re clear.

LA Synagogue Shooting

Hard to know what to say when there isn’t much to say:

A gunman shot and wounded two men in the parking garage of a San Fernando Valley synagogue early Thursday and Jewish schools and temples were put on alert in case it was not an isolated attack.

Two men in their 40s were shot in the legs near the Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic Orthodox synagogue in North Hollywood, Deputy Police Chief Michel Moore said.

The men, both members of the synagogue, had arrived in separate cars for the morning service shortly before 6:30 a.m. when the gunman approached one and, without speaking, shot him and the other man, Moore said. The men were hospitalized in good condition.

Police later detained and handcuffed a man less than a mile from the synagogue.

The youth, believed to be about 17 years old, matched the “very loose” description of the attacker, who was described as a black man wearing a hoodie, Moore said.

“We have to assume, because it was a synagogue, it was a service (and) that there was no other apparent motive, we’re looking at it as a hate crime,” Lt. John Romero said.

The FBI also responded to the scene, and police alerted nearby Jewish schools and temples and put extra patrols in place. There are several synagogues in the area.

“We are being vigilant for any follow-ups that may occur,” Moore said.

The attack occurred 10 miles from Jewish community center where white supremacist Buford Furrow wounded three children, a teenager and an adult, in 1999. Furrow later killed a Filipino letter carrier on another street.

Furrow, who is serving a life sentence without chance of parole, told the Daily News of Los Angeles in a letter last month that he had renounced his racist views and regretted the pain he had caused.

I suppose that’s good news, and I wish him and his newly discovered conscience well in whatever dingy dungeon where he currently rots.

Criminally Isane

In Massachusetts, we’re so crazy, even our Republicans appoint moonbats:

Who are Judges Richard Moses and Janet Sanders?

They are, of course, the distinguished $129,693.98-a-year Massachusetts judges who both ruled that a serial sex offender named David Flavell was not a danger to the public, even though his arrests for assorted sex crimes are in the double digits.

For the record, both of these idiot judges were appointed by Republican governors, Moses by Jane Swift in 2002 and Sanders first to the district court in 1994 by Bill Weld. She was then “promoted” to the superior court in 2001 by, you guessed it, Jane Swift.

Moses is a former employee of the ACLU. Are you surprised?

As for this poor underprivileged victim Flavell, both judges point out that he is an “African-American male” from a broken home who has a child (but apparently no wife). His perv MO used to be exposing himself - “the vast majority of his transgressions involve exhibitionism,” the former ACLU employee wrote dismissively.

For instance, Flavell once exposed himself to a woman with her four children in her car in the parking lot of The Gap in Canton. Do you really want a guy walking around who’s been arrested a “vast” number of times for sex offenses? If you worked for the ACLU, the answer it seems is yes.

Meanwhile, Judge Sanders last month assured taxpayers that they had nothing to worry about. The increasing violence of his attacks against women were “not a ratcheting up . . . (but) simply a change in his modus operandi.”

That will, I am sure, come as quite a relief to the female Mass. General employee whom Flavell allegedly attempted to rape Thursday in a hospital bathroom.

And you thought Willie Horton was the exception. At least Dukakis came to see the error of his ways. That’s not part of the job description for judges here in the Commonwealth:

No wonder these judges have so much sympathy for sex fiends, and so little for their victims. In Sanders’ words, she finds Flavell’s enablers and apologists “more persuasive” than those who believed that the perv was getting worse.

In fact, Judge Sanders seems angrier at the Legislature than at this Level 3 sex offender she cut loose to try to rape again. At one point in her decision, she mentions how when Flavell attacked a woman at a bookstore, police found gloves, duct tape and a ski mask in his car.

Not to worry, this judicial parasite on the public payroll assures us, this savage fiend only had that stuff in his car because he’s homeless. And she blamed that on the fact, she claims, that it’s difficult for Level 3 sex offenders to get housing, thanks to the Legislature’s allegedly draconian (if belated) stand against serial perverts.

“Certainly,” she sniffs, “he should not be penalized for the consequences which the Legislature has imposed upon him.”

What did I write in the post below this one, that I oppose the death penalty? Not for judges, I don’t. Hanging’s too good for them.

Guns Don’t Kill Crazed Homicidal Mental Patients

Off-duty security guards—with guns—kill crazed homicidal mental patients.

And thank God they do:

A burly mental patient bent on hacking his doctor to death was shot dead by a quick-thinking, off-duty security guard who encountered the crazed man stabbing the shrink in a gruesome attack at a Massachusetts General Hospital clinic yesterday, police said.

Police identified the attacker as Jay Carciero, 37, of Reading. He was a patient of the psychiatrist he repeatedly stabbed just after 2 p.m. yesterday at MGH’s Bipolar Clinical and Research Program, on the fifth floor of a Staniford Street medical office high-rise, police said.

The security guard was named as Paul Langone of Reading by Fox 25 News. Last night, a police cruiser was parked outside his house, and the family declined comment. Langone’s father and brother told Fox he heard the doctor’s screams and broke through her office door. He told Carciero to drop the knife, and when Carciero lunged at him, Langone shot him. He used his sweater to stem Desrosiers’ bleeding.

Sources said Desrosiers - seriously injured and listed in stable condition yesterday - was no match for Carciero - described as 6 feet 4 inches and husky. She suffered wounds throughout her body. Her hands were slashed from trying to block the attack, sources said.

“It was gonna take a gun to bring him down,” said a first responder. Langone, who was not officially identified, shot Carciero three times - once in the head and twice in the torso - the first responder said.

“He was certainly heroic; we’re happy he was here,” Bonnie Michelman, MGH security director, said of the guard, who police said was licensed to carry a firearm.

Mark my words, she’s going to be eating hers.

We don’t approve of shooting people here, no matter what they’re doing, whom they are stabbing with maniacal abandon. The guard should have engaged the attacker in discussion about why he was misplacing his anger.

Anyhow, if Ted’s senate seat hasn’t been bought yet, I’d like to give it to Langone.

Oh, and look who else is about to pay with his life for his crimes:

The mastermind of the 2002 Washington, DC-area sniper attacks will die by lethal injection next month, Virginia officials said Tuesday.

John Allen Muhammad declined to choose between lethal injection and electrocution, so under state law the method defaults to lethal injection, Virginia Department of Corrections spokesman Larry Traylor said.

Muhammad is scheduled to be executed Nov. 10 for the October 2002 slaying of Dean Harold Meyers at a Manassas gas station during a string of shootings.

The three-week killing spree in October 2002 left 10 dead in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

He wouldn’t choose? What did he say, surprise me?

I oppose the death penalty, but executions like his make my disappointment a lot easier to bear.

Let’s Play House

Do you want to be the mommy or the daddy? I got dibs on playing the fraudulent borrower:

Due to a loophole and some odd reporting criteria, children as young as 4 received the first-time homebuyer credit that Congress passed last year, according to PoliticsDaily.com. The credit is worth $8,000 and was created to encourage first-time buyers to purchase a home.

More than 500 people have used their children to sign up, with one parent using a 4-year-old to get the credit, the site reported.

These types of claims are among the myriad cases of fraud that have cost the government nearly half a billion dollars, federal investigators told Congress.

Fraudulent claims include people who received the credit but have not purchased homes, who already owned homes, or who were in the country illegally. More worrying, numerous IRS employees have applied for the credit who should not have.

I would highlight the key parts, but what isn’t key?

This is just the first trickle of the torrent of waste, fraud, and abuse that we’ll come to know about (or never will, if the supine media don’t do their jobs).

But the joke’s on us: they want to do all this and more:

This week Sens. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) and Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) began a push to expand the credit to all homebuyers and extend the deadline, now set for Nov. 30th, to July 2010.

Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), chairman of the subcommittee, said that 1.4 million families have claimed nearly $10 billion in credits, but that the speed of implementing the program meant policing fraud was at first unacceptably poor. “We want to and we need to stop this fraud and abuse,” he said.

Because no one knows a good housing deal like Chris “Countrywide” Dodd.

Didn’t President Obama say he was going to pay for all his health care proposals by cutting the waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicare? Why does anybody even listen to him?

A Bright Smile on a Gray Day

We’re getting soaked by a nor’easter (though try telling that to the Bloodthirsty Puppy), so I’m looking for stories to make everyone feel good.

This is not one of those stories:

The body of a man slumped over patio furniture on his balcony in Marina del Rey was mistaken for Halloween decor last week and remained undisturbed for five days. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the complex Thursday evening and found the man, Mostafa Mahmoud Zayed, 75, dead. He had been shot through the eye. Sheriff’s deputies believe that Zayed committed suicide, said Steve Whitmore, a department spokesman.

I’m glad the caught it when they did. Imagine how bad it would have smelled if kids disappointed at his having no candy had egged his house.

Abu Ponzi

One case where the Arabs bettered the Jews:

At least four senior members of Hezbollah suffered serious financial losses as the result of embezzlement by the Lebanese Shi’ite businessman Salah Ezzedine, according to the London-based newspaper Asharq Al Awsat. Ezzedine, who has been dubbed “Hezbollah’s Madoff,” is suspected of embezzling more than one billion dollars.

The four were identified as Mohammad Raad, head of the Hezbollah faction in the Lebanese parliament, Hezbollah MPs Amin Shari and Hussein al-Hajj, and Wafiq Safa, head of the organization’s coordinating committee.

Safa was the person who handed over the bodies of missing Israeli soldiers Eldad Regev and Udi Goldwasser, to the United Nations, during a 2008 prisoner swap between Hezbollah and Israel. At the time, he stood in front of the Al-Manar television cameras and declared: “You will know immediately what their fate was,” as he pointed to the coffins containing the remains.

According to assessments in the Arab media and the news agencies, Ezzedine succeeded in defrauding hundreds of investors out of sums totaling between $600 million and $1.3 billion. He was arrested at the beginning of last week after persuading a large number of investors - including businessmen from Qatar and the Gulf states and thousands of villagers from southern Lebanon - to transfer sums of money to him, which he promised to invest with returns of 25-55 percent. After he declared bankruptcy, Ezzedine turned himself over to the Lebanese authorities.

Madoff’s crimes hurt many Jewish charities—educational, cultural, scientific. Hezbollah’s Madoff hurt terrorist scum. He should get a medal.

Seriously, it will take these Islamist a-holes years to embezzle their riches back. They won’t have the time or the money to invest in the arsenals and training necessary to wreak genocide upon Israel. If Lebanon won’t name a street after Ezzedine, Israel should.

Who “Acted Stupidly” This Time?

Another case of American law enforcement “acting stupidly”:

A U.S. Border Patrol agent who was shot and killed Thursday night was responding to a potential incursion into the United States, authorities said.

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says, “This act of violence will not stand.”

Agent Robert Rosas suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene around 9 p.m. in the Campo area in San Diego County, California, said Richard Barlow of the U.S. Border Patrol.

A police officer rolls up to a scene and immediately makes assumptions based on prejudice and stereotypes.

So maybe some not-so-wise but heavily armed Latinos were loitering with ill intent along the border—a border swarming with smugglers of drugs and illegal aliens, running unmarked along a country staggered by uncontrolled, depraved violence. Why does this guy (this late guy) have to assume the worst?

President Obama has apologized (sort of) for his ill-judged remarks on the Gates/Crowley issue, and wants to wash the whole thing away with a beer with the involved parties (in front of assembled photographers, no doubt).

But Agent Robert Rosas won’t be attending, no matter how thirsty for a beer he might have been. Agents, officers, sheriffs, you name it—respond to any call, day or night, never knowing if they’ll find arrogant Harvard academics or genuine riffraff (the difference isn’t as great as you might think). They are the front line between our cozy existences and anarchy. If that makes them “stupid” I concede the point—but we should all be grateful for their stupidity.

Spontaneous Self-Combustion

I’m sorry, I know 3rd-degree burns aren’t funny, but… well, you read this and try not to laugh:

A man in Western Australia was engulfed in flames when police officers fired a Taser stun gun at him.

The police say they used the Taser on Ronald Mitchell, 36, when he ran at them carrying a container of petrol and a cigarette lighter.

They said that Mr Mitchell, who lives in a remote Aboriginal community, had been sniffing petrol. They suggested the cigarette lighter started the fire.

Mr Mitchell is in critical condition in hospital with third degree burns.

I know, I’m awful.

But sniffing gas in the presence of a cigarette lighter, and causing enough of a ruckus to bring the police—and then charging at them—I mean, come on. It’s a wonder he lived to age 36.

Naturally, race is being discussed as a factor.
