Terrorism?

Ralph Peters has no doubts

On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim US Army officer shouting, “Allahu akbar!” (”God is great!”) committed the worst act of terror on American soil since 9/11. And no one wants to call it an act of terror or associate it with Islam.

What cowards we are. Political correctness killed those patriotic Americans at Fort Hood as surely as the Islamist gunman did. And the media treat it like a case of nondenominational shoplifting.

This was a terrorist act. When an extremist plans and executes a murderous plot against our unarmed soldiers to protest our efforts to counter Islamist fanatics, it’s an act of terror. Period.

Watch the clip, read the column, and you’ll be convinced that while Allah may be Akbar, some of his adherents are deranged demons.

Don’t Mention the War

If you, like me, were watching TV or listening to the radio when the news broke about the Ft. Hood jihad, you may have had the appalling experience of hearing President Obama’s reaction. The cable news outlets broke their coverage to go to his live remarks, and, well, you might have thought it was April 1st, not November 5th.

It took him two and a half minutes of light-hearted introductory remarks to even mention the shooting. His manner was that of a cheap lounge act; I expected him to break into “Mack the Knife” or “Danke Schoen” at any moment.

I cannot begin to fathom how this man thinks. But it seems he believes the job of President of the United States makes him community organizer in chief, not commander in chief. Men and women under his command lay dead, dying, and wounded, and he was giving shout-outs and wassups. It was obscene, as this writer observed.

PS: I repeated here reports that President Obama skipped election return coverage on TV in favor of watching a documentary about himself for the second time. While it made a great story, and allowed me a couple of good shots, it was not true, but a misunderstanding (correction appended at original post).

My apologies to the president and to our readers.

Don’t Call it a Tragedy

It was a massacre, it was slaughter, it was butchery—I suspect maybe it was even jihad.

But it was not a tragedy.

Authorities raided the apartment of suspected shooter Major Nidal Malik Hasan early Friday in a search for clues, as another victim died from injuries suffered during the worst mass killing on a U.S. military base.

Hasan was on a ventilator and unconscious in a hospital after being shot four times during the shootings at the Army’s sprawling Fort Hood, post officials said. In the early chaos after the shootings, authorities believed they had killed him, only to discover later that he had survived.

Before Thursday’s shooting, Hasan reportedly gave away all of his furniture along with copies of the Koran to neighbors, KXXV-TV reported.

Authorities have not ruled out that Hasan was acting on behalf of some unidentified radical group, a senior U.S. official in Washington said. He would not say whether any evidence had come to light to support that theory.

The motive for the shooting wasn’t clear, but Hasan was apparently set to deploy soon, and had expressed some anger about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, said generals at Fort Hood told her that Hasan was about to deploy overseas.

Retired Army Col. Terry Lee, who said he worked with Hasan, told Fox News that Hasan had hoped President Barack Obama would pull troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq. Hasan got into frequent arguments with others in the military who supported the wars, Lee said, and had tried hard to prevent his pending deployment.

Federal law enforcement officials told the Associated Press that Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed homicide bombings and other threats. The officials said they are still trying to confirm that he was the author.

One of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog that equates homicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades.

“To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause,” said the Internet posting. “Scholars have paralled (sic) this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers.”

American, born and raised, who went berserk under the great president Barack Hussein Obama. Draw your own conclusions.

How Many Ways Can You Think of to Support Jihad?

I confess I was spent after seven or eight—but this fellow has come up with 44.

Forty-four! Imagine! I mean the 3,168 virgins alone would… sorry, what was I saying?

Jihad is the greatest deed in Islam and the salvation of the ummah is in practicing it. In times like these, when Muslim lands are occupied by the kuffar, when the jails of tyrants are full of Muslim POWs, when the rule of the law of Allah is absent from this world and when Islam is being attacked in order to uproot it, Jihad becomes obligatory on every Muslim. Jihad must be practiced by the child even if the parents refuse, by the wife even if the husband objects and by the one indebt even if the lender disagrees.

Dear brothers and sisters the issue is urgent since today our enemy is neither a nation nor a race. It is a system of kufr with global reach. The kuffar today are conspiring against us like never before. So could we be heading towards the great battle between the Romans and the Muslims - Al Malhamah - which the Prophet (saaws) spoke about?

Again, the point needs to be stressed: Jihad today is obligatory on every capable Muslim. So as a Muslim who wants to please Allah it is your duty to find ways to practice it and support it. Following are 43 ways for the brothers and sisters to support Jihad fi sabeelillah.

43, 44—what the diff? The first would be to click over to see for yourself.

The author, Anwar al Awlaki, is a Yemeni Imam (or is that Iman?) with degrees from American universities. (Where else would he get radicalized?) As of this writing, he has not yet achieved number two on the list: “Praying to Allah to award you with martyrdom”, but when an Iman (or is that Imam?) looks like this, martyrdom would seem like a waste:

Uzis for Uzbekistan

The jumble of names and places is a little nauseating, but if you stick with it, you’ll be pleased to learn that Islam has declared war on China:

Head of Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan: ‘East Turkestan [i.e. Xinjiang] Is an Indivisible Part of the Islamic Nation, and We Won’t Let the Oppression Pass in Silence’

The “Muslim Uzbekistan” website reports that Tahir Yuldashev, head of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), has released an audio recording in which he vows to champion the Uighurs against Chinese oppression. Yuldashev, whose group is now based in Waziristan, also denied any IMU involvement in the attacks in Uzbekistan’s Andijan region in late May. (A rival Uzbek group, the Islamic Jihad Union (IJU), claimed responsibility for these attacks in a video issued shortly after the events.)

We’ll see how that works out for “Muslim Uzbekistan”. I believe their threats and promises, but I anticipate China’s anti-pansy response. If there’s anyone more cold-blooded than a jihadi fighter, it’s a Chicom soldier with orders to shoot to kill. Pay-per-view heaven.

Tastes Like Hawk

I don’t know if you guys have noticed, but some of your jihadist types have crossed a line into some pretty weird territory:

“Is it permitted to eat the flesh of American soldiers?

“The mujahideen should inform their belligerent [infidel] and apostate enemies of this exceptional law so that they can bring it up and study it at their conferences on human rights, counterterrorism, and so on! Then they in turn can proclaim that our soldiers lick their lips [at the thought of] eating the flesh of their hamburger- and Pepsi-eating soldiers!”

“Abu Hajir Al-Muqrin” wrote: “If we are forced to eat Americans, let’s make them into a gunpowder-flavored kabsa with some hors d’oeuvres made of apostates.”

“Muhammad Al-Baghdadi” wrote: “But the slaughtering needs to be according to the shari’a. He then wrote “perhaps this is the best way” above stills from the Nick Berg decapitation video.

“Al-Maqdisi’s Student” weighed in again towards the end of the thread and wrote: “A true story: a group of mujahideen from one of the brigades was in the mountains during the jihad against the Russians. One of them was sent off on a mission; he went and came back, but he couldn’t find any of the brothers. He saw a roasted calf leg that the brothers in the brigade left for him for dinner, and he ate of it until he was full. When he went back to the main camp, the brothers saw him and offered him dinner! He said: praise Allah, I already ate! They said: Where did you find dinner? He said: You left me roasted calf leg! They said: No, no, that wasn’t calf, that was the leg of a Russian infidel! He answered: No matter, it’s all Islamic slaughter! (smile)”

Smile indeed. I didn’t realize Nick Berg jokes were so big over there.

Let me insert my boilerplate politically correct language here: not all Muslims are cannibals. But a far number of them are pretty sick-o.

Lest you think this is a recent aberration, recall:

The Byzantine commander said to Khalid that the Muslims had only gone out from their land due to hunger, and offered to buy them off. Khalid responded: “It was not hunger that drove us out of our land, as you say; we are a people who drink blood, and we know that there is no blood more delicious than Byzantine blood. That is why we came.”

The Jihadist Next Door

Sean Hannity recently ran a piece on “homegrown jihad” camps in America. The video is here:

And here’s an interview with a member of the organization that produced the film.

I don’t have much to add, although this is the sort of story Steve Emerson and The Investigative Project usually cover, and they haven’t touched it.
