‘Nation of Islam’ Leader Louis Farrakhan Discusses Fort Hood Shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan On Al-Jazeera TV

Farrakhan… Hasan… Al Jazeera…: this can’t possibly go well:

Interviewer: … To what extent might this incident affect the Muslims in the U.S. and make them targets of persecution?”

[…]

Louis Farrakhan: “As you know, since 9/11, in America and in other parts of the world, those anti-Islamic forces have stepped up their efforts to make Muslims… to cause the Muslims to be looked at as uncivilized, savage, or wicked people. This is an attempt by anti-Islamic forces, and some members of the Jewish community, and some members of the Christian community, who have united to condemn Islam and to speak ill of our Prophet Muhammad, and to even go so far as to say that the Muslims worship the devil.

[…]

“This recent unfortunate event, which took place at the Fort Hood base in Texas, has only added fuel to the fire. On behalf of all the Muslims in the Muslim world, we are saddened by the loss of these 13 American soldiers and the 30 others who were wounded in the incident. No human being would be pleased to see that kind of slaughter, coming from a fellow officer in the U.S. Army.

“However, we have to look at Major Nidal Hasan. What happened to him? What kind of stress was he under? What kind of insults had he borne?

[…]

“When there are Muslims who love America, and who join the armed forces to protect America, and to serve the interests of America, and then America, unfortunately, under the falsehoods of the George W. Bush administration, launches attacks against Iraq and against Afghanistan, and now, those soldiers are killing Muslims… So when they go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the kind of hatred that is built up in the American forces, when they call the Muslims ‘ragheads’ and ‘desert niggers,’ and then, in the Abu Ghreib prison, Muslim women were raped, and Muslim men were sodomized… All this affects Muslims serving in the army. So when you are being insulted by your superior officers or by your fellow soldiers, at some point, a person might break. Unfortunately, I believe this is what happened to Captain [sic] Nidal Hasan.”

Don’t forget being buried with pig entrails, Lou. Didn’t we do that, too, or did we miss a trick? I even have it on good authority that one sergeant at Guantanamo once urinated while thinking of a Koran. That’s one hell of an insult to be borne, a whole lot of stress to be under.

But thanks for your kind words on “this unfortunate event”. We’ll never forget them.

Pandora’s Box

Obama’s election has let slip the evil spirits.

Reverend Wright:

My youngest child came home from school, and said to me, “Are you and Barack cool?” I said, “Of course we are. Why do you ask that? I just heard some kids talking at school.” I said, “No, that’s a media thing.”

Their intention was to use me as a weapon of mass destruction to destroy that man’s candidacy. Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Barack Obama, their successes individually should not lull us to sleep to think that now it’s all over, everything is solved. This was some serious structural problems that keep people locked into poverty.

Louis Farrakhan:

“President-elect Obama has energized all segments of the depressed, downtrodden, rejected and despised,” he said in a 90-minute speech at Mosque Maryam on the city’s South Side. “Now it is up to us to take the new energy that he has given us … and channel that energy into making ourselves better.”

Farrakhan, who said Obama draws a “oneness of spirit” from all people, admitted he stayed quiet about his support for Obama during the past few months out of fear his words would harm the Illinois senator’s bid for the White House.

Michael Pfleger:

“November 4 has passed, and like Oprah, I’m unleashed. Free at last!” he said.

Actually, he went further and mocked Martin Luther King, Jr., saying “Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty…!”

Nothing of the hatred and bile we’ve come to associate with these spiritual advisors of the president-elect—but that will come.

They’re back!

Oh, Who Are the People in Your Neighborhood?

The South Side of Chicago and suburban Boston aren’t really that far apart:

Among the other voters who have shown up to vote at Shoesmith Elementary School this morning, where Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., will vote: Louis Farrakhan and William Ayers.

Seriously.

Welcome to the South Side of Chicago.

Welcome to Greater Cambridge, too. Seriously. About the only comment by Ayers and Farrakhan I haven’t heard parroted around here is that Judaism is a “dirty religion”*, as Farrakhan has said. But if someone did say that, I don’t think we’d give him an award which declared he “epitomized greatness”, as Barack Obama’s church did for Minister Farrakhan.

*

“Now that nation called Israel, never has had any peace in forty years and she will never have any peace because there can never be any peace structured on injustice, thievery, lying and deceit and using the name of God to shield your dirty religion under His holy and righteous name.”

Obama CAIRs

Daniel Pipes fires both barrels:

One watches with dismay as Democratic candidate Barack Obama manages to hide the truth on his longstanding, if indirect ties to two institutions: the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), listed by the US government in 2007 as an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas-funding trial; and the Nation of Islam (NoI), condemned by the Anti-Defamation League for its “consistent record of racism and anti-Semitism.”

Farrakhan himself endorsed Obama, calling him “the hope of the entire world,” “one who can lift America from her fall,” and even “the messiah.”

That Obama’s biography touches so frequently on such unsavory organizations as CAIR and the Nation of Islam should give pause. How many of politicians have a single tie to either group, much less seven of them?

Lots of proof and supporting detail in the excised passages. Read for yourself. But it sounds like Obama is living up to his name—his middle name.
