Billy the Kid Was “A Pioneer” Too

To keep my promise not to speak ill of the dead, I’ll let others speak for me:

[Helen] Thomas “never failed to keep presidents – myself included – on their toes,” Obama said in a statement. “What made Helen the ‘Dean of the White House Press Corps’ was not just the length of her tenure, but her fierce belief that our democracy works best when we ask tough questions and hold our leaders to account.”

“Our thoughts are with Helen’s family, her friends, and the colleagues who respected her so deeply,” the president added.

Let’s here from the late gargoyle herself (oops, slipped!):

Israel should “get the hell out of Palestine,” and that the Jewish people should go home to “Poland, Germany … and America and everywhere else.”

Who can forget?

“We are owned by the propagandists against the Arabs. There’s no question about that,” Thomas said Dec. 2 during a speech to an Arab-American group in Dearborn, Mich. “Congress, the White House and Hollywood, Wall Street, are owned by the Zionists. No question in my opinion. They put their money where their mouth is.”

I mean, you can’t remain neutral. I remember the rabbi who spoke at the Martin Luther King march on Washington. Heschel had a cameo appearance, and he said, “The greatest sin of all in the Nazi era was silence.” When you remain silent to the suffering and the incredible aggression against a people, then you are culpable.

“I paid the price for that,” said Thomas, a longtime White House correspondent. “But it was worth it, to speak the truth. The Zionists have to understand that’s their country, too. Palestinians were there long before any European Zionists.”

Alluding to the anti-Semitic claim that Jews control the media, Thomas said, “You can not say anything (critical) about Israel in this country.”

There are so many lies contained therein, I don’t know where to start. So I won’t. Let us leave her memory to “Helen’s family, her friends, and the colleagues who respected her so deeply”. We have no use for it.

Once more, for old times’ sake:
