Other Racist Murders You May Have Missed

While one accused (though exonerated) murderer, Ray Lewis, was being hailed as a peerless leader and hero, another accused murderer was on trial.

Why haven’t we heard more about this?

A Fulton County judge will rule Thursday on whether to give the jury a third verdict option in the trial of a former Midtown security guard accused in a deadly 2011 shooting spree in Midtown.

Superior Court Judge Kelly A. Lee will hear from experts who evaluated Nkosi Thandiwe Wednesday night to determine if his mental state during the shooting spree was so disturbed that a jury could find him “not guilty by reason of insanity.”

Thandiwe’s attorney made the last-minute request Wednesday after his client testified, admitting to fatally shooting Brittney Watts amid a trance-like state.

Thandiwe, 23, also confessed from the witness stand that he shot two other women that day – Tiffany Ferenczy and Lauren Garcia, who is now paralyzed from her injuries – before driving off in Watts’ car.

“My mind was blank at the time,” he said.

Or not so blank:

During his testimony Wednesday, Thandiwe suggested that his reason for even purchasing the gun he used in the shootings was to enforce beliefs he’d developed about white people during his later years as an anthropology major at the University of West Georgia.

“I was trying to prove a point that Europeans had colonized the world, and as a result of that, we see a lot of evil today,” he said. “In terms of slavery, it was something that needed to be answered for. I was trying to spread the message of making white people mend.”

He said the night before the shooting, he attended a so-called “Peace Party” intended to address his concerns about helping the black community find equal footing, but two white people were there.

“I was upset,” Thandiwe said. “I was still upset Friday. I took the gun to work because I was still upset from Thursday night.”

If President Obama had a son, he might look like Nkosi Thandiwe.

I found this story in a Mark Steyn post at NRO’s The Corner. He found it at a Gateway Pundit post, which in turn spied it in another blog. I had to go through three (at least) conservative sites before finding the original Atlanta Journal-Constitution story—from a week ago. And they didn’t get to the motive until the 18th paragraph.

A psychopath shoots three women in one day, killing one of them, because they were white. And he learned his loathing of the honkie race in college. And the whole story might as well be a state secret for all the attention it’s not getting.

George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin in self-defense and has to live as if in witness protection. Nkosi Thandiwe shoots three white women in fit of racist pique (though premeditated) and the media can barely stir itself to notice. (Most of the Google News hits were from local Atlanta news sites.)

Oh, he was found guilty on all counts and got 65 years without parole, btw.

Which made Mom sad:

“He’s not the ‘Midtown Shooter,’” she said. “He’s not a monster. It’s not consistent with who Nkosi is. Nothing can be gained by putting him in jail for the rest of his life.”

I disagree, Mrs. Thandiwe. He is a monster, and he should have been put away before the shooting. Same goes for Adam Lanza, Jared Lee Loughner, and all the other crazy SOBs who kill people for no reason. Except your boy had a reason.

PS: Did he pass his “background check” to buy the gun? Something tells me he acquired it through alternate means.

Interesting name Nkosi Thandiwe is definitely of Xhosa /Zulu /Ndebele ( Nguni) origin and , in the context of slavery quite interesting .These two tribal groupings were the most bloodthirsty in South African history. These tribes slaughtered millions of people when they themselves invaded what is now South Africa, so to talk about slavery is just a pathetic excuse .Since these tribes themselves enslaved countless Bushmen (San) and Hottentots ( Khoi ) in their various killing sprees, the Mfecane alone killed some 2 million people in South Africa in brutal inter tribal warfare, which was only halted when the Boers at the behest of the conquered tribes went to war against the Matebele in exchange for the land which they now occupy.
