It’s Unexpected!

Initial jobless claims fall, but one state didn’t report due to lack of electricity.

New Jersey continues to aid the White House? Or is it NY?

It’s a beat!
355K is below the 365K that was expected, and nicely below the 363K last week.
BUT: According to Michael Mckee at Bloomberg, one state failed to file initial claims this week due to lack of electricity, so it’s not clear how much that affected things.
What’s clear is that the number will spike up.

On the last day that he campaigned, I watched the President of the United States tell the crowds that under his administration deficits had gone down. Nobody challenged this assertion. If we will believe that, we’ll believe anything.

Oh yeah… the hamsters say that until we stop playing with the numbers, they refuse to participate. So I’ll give you my 2 cents: It will have to spike next week, because the state that isn’t reporting is either NY or NJ.

The hamsters are right to sit this one out, Aggie. Given the layoffs just announced by Boeing, and the additional job losses sure to come by a sluggish economy and the implementation of ObamaCare, they’re going to need all their strength just to keep up.
