Depends on What the Meaning of “Fascist” Is

You’ve probably all seen or heard about the CNN reporter who dismissed one of the Tea Party events as some sort of latter day Nuremberg. Susan Roesgen interviewed a man who did unfortunately drop an f-bomb—f for fascist—and she cut her coverage with some remark about this hardly being “family viewing”.

Well, what do you know: she didn’t always feel this way.

In video posted by Paul Chesser from yesterday’s CNN broadcast, Roesgen harassed a man who had a sign in which Obama was portrayed as a fascist with a Hitler mustache. “Why be so hard on the President of the United States though with such an offensive message?” an indignant Roesgen hollered.

Yet back in 2006, when she was covering protests against the Bush administration’s response to Katrina, she jokingly referred to this photo of a man wearing a mask with devil horns and a Hitler mustache as a Bush “look-alike.” [Video here]

I guess one person’s fascist is another person’s independent.

Oh, how I wish we could make this known to the public, but, unfortunately, CNN just won’t post it. Isn’t it frustrating?
